CRT(cathode ray tubes) produce light, CCDs (Charge coupled devices) which
are used in most TV cameras can detect infrared as well as visible light.
Try pointing your TV remote at your CCD based camera, you'll see it light
up. Consult your local electronics manufacturer for information on the
spectral sensitivity of particular CCDs. Please let us know what you find
out.
