Benham's disc & colour blindness

I recently discovered that a person who is red-green colour blind sees the
red and the green colours on Benham's wheel as indistinguishable, exactly
as they would see if the colours were "really" there. This set me to
wondering, which is how I happened upon www.exploratorium.edu. Seems to me
that your explanation about differing cone cell response times and
persistence times fits nicely with this finding
