I would like to question the reason that forever teachers have taught that hot air rises. Nothing in this world rises ( assumption that hot air moves up by itself). Will a spoon rise by itself or a speck of dust?

Where do stop and say this material will rise by itself? Even an atom has weight and will not rise by itself. Hot air is lighter than cold air and is pushed up by the cold air it does not rise by itself. Look forward to any comments on this subject.
