Subject: what IS glass

Every year, when we discuss phases of matter, glass always comes up. In
the past, I have gotten into the habit of discussing with students that
glass actually does flow, using the example of old window panes that are
thicker at the bottom. At the alumni institute this summer, I heard that
there is evidence that glass does NOT flow, and that it has been
reclassified. Does anyone have an update on this?? I heard that the
reason old glass is thicker on the bottom is because of how it was
blown...please advise.
