Subject: WWW stuff for life science teachers

Came across a couple of websites that I thought teachers in the life
sciences might find useful for their kids. Maybe the students could use
these sites simply for information or maybe in conjunction with a project,
lab, presentation or just for fun.

The first is from the non-profit organization known as the Environmental
Literacy Council. Its their version of an environmental education site.

The kids will find brief essays on topics ranging from coral reefs to
climate changes. As they browse though the offerings they will come across
many links to other resources overing a wide range of information presented
in a number of different ways. As an example of one type of resource, take
a walk through a rainforest by clicking on Forest/Tropical Forest/A Walk in
the Rainforest:

Another site that targets kids is MicrobeWorld - developed by the American
Society for Microbiology.

>From the initial home page, you are transferred to one of two sites that
the ASM has set up for your edification. You'll find facts, activities and
much more.

For starters enter Microbeworld.org/The Wonders of Microbes/Microbe
Portrait Gallery.

You might want to check out the other path by entering Microbe.org instead
and investigate, with "Sam Sleuth", the things you find there.

Have fun. - ron
