Subject: Job announcement RAFT


Job Title: Director of Education

Basic Function: The Director of Education is responsible for all
project-based learning workshops at RAFT. He/she organizes, schedules, and
teaches workshops. Other responsibilities include writing idea sheets,
creating new projects out of incoming materials, and general administration
of workshop records. Strong oral and writing skills a must.

Essential Job Functions:

Schedule, organize, develop, and promote professional development workshops
for teachers.
Publish quarterly workshop schedule; write articles for RAFT quarterly
newsletter.
Evaluation of all incoming donations; maintain communications with
warehouse staff regarding donated materials.
Create and organize educational projects from incoming donations.
Write idea sheets on math, science, or art to detail how to use our
materials in the classroom.
Continually assess workshop program to increase the quality of services
provided and improve overall program.
Work with RAFT CEO regarding the quality and content of workshops offered.
Continue to build network of key educators in the Bay Area to offer quality
workshops at RAFT.
Continue to develop partnerships with area educational organizations and
museums.
Perform other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: Bachelorís of Science degree in science, math, education, or
other related field.
Experience: Five or more years of classroom experience. Understanding of
the needs of all teachers, from early childhood through high school, is
necessary in providing workshops that develop meaningful educational
materials.
Skills: Exceptional organizational skills. Good written and verbal
communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with a wide range of
individuals.

Work Year: Full-time, vacation, holidays, sick leave, and medical benefits.
