Here some opinions (unproven) about where the iron came from.
1. They could be particles of the mineral magnatite that were part of the
sand that formed the beach.
2. If the particles are really iron, they are man-made, perhaps from a sunken
vessel that was ground up by wave action.
Any other suggestions?
