There are many non-polar molecules that pass through a liquid phase under
ambient conditions. In fact, under the proper temperature and pressure all
substances will pass through a liquid phase. Conversely, I would guess that
all substance would sublime under the proper conditions, like the ice cubes
in your freezer. In the vacuum of outer space, even solid helium might
sublime! The bottom line is that the transition from solid to liquid to gas
depends upon physical conditions and the nature of the substance at hand.
