Re: Data collection systems

We have been using Vernier systems with success. The
new LabPro interfaces allow students to collect data
and analyse it on their own calculators. In addition
the interface program downloads very quickly from the
Labpro onto the kids calculators. It can then be
deleted if math classes need the memory to be cleared
before a test.
The LabPro interfaces allow the use of either the
students own TI 8x calculators or Macs. The ability to
interface with Macs is particularly useful for
printing up labs.
The equipment is inexpensive enough to allow class
sets of 12 or 13 LabPros and probes to be attainable.
We use them mainly in physics and chem at present, but
will use them in biology in the future.
