My school is looking for a new science teacher to teach 7th grade science,
five classes. You would get to work in a 6 person science department, 3 who
have been/or are going through the Exploratorium's Teacher Institute,
Catherine Heck, Lisa Bauman, and myself, Clinton Huey-Ayer.

Bancroft is a middle school in San Leandro. It is diverse ethnically,
culturally, economically, linguistically, and in many other ways. The
science department is highly collaborative, and has very strong new teacher
support. Our school has a block schedule 4 out of the 5 days of the week to
lower the number of student contacts per day and to increase the class time
to 93 or 104 minutes, great for lab activities. On two days you would teach
2 blocks and on the other two you would teach 3 blocks. Science class size
maximums are set at 28! We have a very dedicated and talented faculty and a
very team-oriented and supportive administration.
