Would you like to learn about the connections between our star, the Sun,
and our planet, the Earth? Take part in field trips and activities that
can be used in middle and high school classrooms? Receive resources for
teaching Sun-Earth connection astronomy? Interact with professional
scientists? Be eligible for 2 units of college credit? Earn a $600 stipend?

You are invited to apply for the SECAT Summer '02 Workshop:

Sun-Earth Connection Astronomy for Teachers (SECAT)

Sponsored by
NASA's Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum (SECEF) and
the Bay Area Earth Science Institute (BAESI)

Dates: (all 6 days required)
Monday-Thursday, June 24-27, 2002,
Friday, August 16, 2002, and
Saturday, October 5, 2002.

Eligibility: Current or prospective (credential program) teachers of grades
6-10 who include Sun-Earth astronomy in their curricula.

To apply: Get an application form at <http://www.baesi.org> (follow the
SECAT links).
Deadline for applications is March 4, 20002. Space is limited, so apply soon.
