Subject: - Learning Studio - week of June 16

Another week has gone by and I better get this sent out before I have
another question come up and distract me again. It's taken me two hours to
get this far, but I got plenty of other stuff done at the same time.

I once had a sign on my desk at a previous job that said 'Interrupt
Driven'. The only person who fully got the joke was a UNIX programmmer but
others still got part of the idea and sympathised as they also suffered
from the same phenomenon.

This week the web page is not as fancy as many but I strongly urge you to
take a look as it is very content rich.

The list of new resources continues to be large for online resources but
much smaller for printed texts as we are not buying much at the moment.
Next week there should be fewer online resources as I have finally finished
mining several major sites for such materials.

OK on to the lists!

WEB PAGE OF THE WEEK:

Living Internet
http://LivingInternet.com/

We all know what the Internet is and what we can get from it right?

Well this site may make you rethink that view.

Much of what is available on the Internet is rarely in the news media and
is often not what people think of when they use the Internet. Many of these
resources can be very useful for those who use it. For example in my case I
use Usenet newsgroups and email far more than I use the Web to locate
information.

In any case check this page and book mark it for future reference.

Combining solid information with silliness often works for conveying
information.if well done. And in this book it is.combined well. Warning you
may end up groaning at some of the humor. Included are a glossary and
index, a teachers guide is also slipped into the back of our copy.
