T-rex on Trial: Predator or Scavenger?

Dr. Jack Horner on a Scientific Debate of Geologic
Proportions

With its gaping jaws, raggedly studded with
18-centimeter teeth, Tyrannosaurus rex looks like the
ultimate predator. But according to Jack Horner, the
paleontologist that inspired one of the characters in
Jurassic Park, T-rex was not a hunter at all. Evidence
from this dinosaur's skull, hips and leg bones
suggests that T-rex was simply a massive scavenger.
Don't miss Dr. Jack Horner's meaty talk on the topic
on Saturday, September 21 at the California Academy of
Sciences. Bring the kids to a special children’s
lecture on Sunday, September 22.

Adult Lecture: September 21, 7:30 pm, $6 members/$8
non-members
Children’s Lecture: September 22, 1:00 pm, FREE after
museum admission

Both talks will take place at the California Academy
of Sciences. Tickets may be purchased at the door or
by calling (415) 750-7128. For more information,
contact Juan Carlos Solis at 415-750-7143 or visit
