If anyone is interested in collecting minerals, Paul Doherty and I
will be heading over to the City by the Brine - Trona, CA!
The annual Gem-O-Rama is happening Oct. 12 -13th (Columbus Day
weekend) at Searles Lake California (near Trona).
Located only 411.4 miles away (according to Yahoo), this show will
feature such events as:
Mud Trip- Cluster & pancake hanksite, trona, borax
Blow Hole - Hanksite, halite, borax, sulfohalite dry surface
Pink Halite - In brine, under hard salt
Pinnacles National Natural Landmark - Self guided, info at show
IMC Chemical Plant Tour
