SJSU uses pasta. I tried it one year and it'll be a lot closer to scale
than toothpicks.

A 6th grade teacher friend of mine wants to do an activity building
bridges with her class. She is looking for materials that scale more
realistically than toothpicks or popsicle sticks. So, does anyone
have suggestions about materials that scale more accurately regarding
strength/elasticity/brittleness/etc?
Thanks,
Geoff
