Subject: rust in a bottle

At the Provocaciones in the fall, someone presented a demo where
steel wool rusted in a flask and the balloon was drawn inside by the
decreasing pressure - within 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately, I can't
find my notes.

I soaked steel wool in alcohol, placed it into a flask, and stretched
a balloon over the top of the flask. Nothing happened after an hour.
Can anyone tell what I need to change?
