Hi Raleigh,
This whole balloon business is becoming over inflated. The CO2 in an inflated
balloon has a higher pressure than the outside atmosphere. The CO2 will leak
out until its pressure equals the atmospheric pressure. The balloon will look
limp, but will not be sucked into the mouth of its container. If the pressure
inside the balloon is lower then the atmosphere, the nitrogen and oxygen in
the air will pass into the balloon, leaving it limp. Unless some other
process than pressure equlization is going on (like CO2 reacting with the
rubber of the balloon), the CO2 filled balloon will just go limp after while.
