Subject: Physics opening for next year

Hello pinholers:

Leadership High School is seeking a full-time science teacher
(primarily teaching physics) for the 2003-04 schoolyear. Leadership
high is a small public charter high school offering a college
preparatory program that emphasizes rigor, personal attention, and
extensive leadership development. We serve the diverse communities
within San Francisco by providing students an excellent education and
developing effective community leaders.

Depending on course enrollments, the physics teacher will either
teach 2 or 3 sections of physics. The remaining course assignments
are somewhat flexible, depending on the teacher's experience, but
could either be biology, chemistry, or AP chemistry. Our science
program emphasizes hands-on experimentation and real-world
connections.

We look for the following qualities in all Leadership High School staff:
* an ability to work well with students, parents and colleagues;
* willingness to participate in a community with a vision;
* experience with a diverse population in an urban setting;
* experience in school reform;
* willingness and experience at being a generalist first and specialist second.
* a current California teaching credential is required for all faculty.

Please e-mail me directly with inquiries, and also please pass this
on to other interested teachers.

Thanks,
Geoff
