Code Blue at the Genome Zoo

A World-Premier Play by Tony-Nominated Playwright Barbara Damashek

Commissioned by the Exploratorium in conjunction with Traits of Life

Weekends April 12 & 13, 19 & 20, 26 & 27;
 May 3 & 4 and Saturday, May 10 at 2pm

Perfect for families with kids 6 and up, as well as educators, Code Blue at
the Genome Zoo sheds entertaining light on the hidden and sometimes
microscopic world of laboratory science and genetic research, and magnifies
it up into a fractured fable, staged with imagination, whimsy, some bumps
and jumps, and a few songs.

Enter the world of the Genome Zoo, where homo sapiens and other creatures
who have had their genomes mapped work hand-in-paw to further science.
Welcomed by our barely visible MC, a rapping roundworm, and led by our
unlikely hero, Mus Musculus, we are on the trail of a dangerous stranger
who has infiltrated the DNA lab. Meet the intrepid genome team, which
includes a jellyfish detective, a fruit fly, a fugu fish, and a mustard
plant, and accompany them on a musical mystery tour through a maze of
fascinating questions and intrigue. The play is included in the price of
admission to the museum.

Seating for each performance is limited and reservations are strongly
recommended. Call (415) 561-0308 from 10am - 4pm for reservations.
Reservations for each weekend close on the prior Thursday. Tickets are
also available the day of the show.
