Do not mix H2 and O2 in a balloon and then ignite them.
The sound levels from the resulting detonation in the classroom are near
ear damaging levels.
H2 by itself however produces a lower peak sound level since its combustion
is limited by the diffusion of oxygen from the air.
Keep the balloon diameter under 9" and you will keep your hearing...as long
as your students are quieter than a detonation ;-)
