Doesn't it at least "look like" the apparatus for Millikan's oil drop
experiment? There are key things that are "missing", at least in my mind's
eye as I wonder where the atomizer would release the oil drops, and of
course we don't have a source of ionizing radiation (but you wouldn't store
that with this necessarily). Just a guess.
