Greetings,

I teach sixth grade science and have a student who could probably be in a
Special Day Class but isn't. His behavior and social skills are at about a
first grade level, though his reading and comprehension are a bit above
that. He likes science but so far hasn't participated in any labs or other
activities in class. The Resource Specialist would like to work on
simplified but related concepts using appropriately simple books on the
topics we will study this year: heat and heat transfer; plate tectonics,
earthquakes, and volcanoes; ecology; natural resources; energy use and
conservation; alternative energy sources.

I'm looking for specific titles and authors so I can give a list to the
Resource teacher. Any suggestions?
