Hi karen

The wire will not attract the iron filings. The magnetic field is too weak.

The wire should go through the center of a piece of cardboard,
perpendicular to the cardboard.

Sprinkle the iron filings on the cardboard.

Connect the power.

gently vibrate the cardboard.

the filings make circles around the wire.
