Hi Andy,
When concrete cures a chemical change occurs. Water is involved in a complex
reaction with the chemicals that make up Portland cement.
Dissolving salt in water is usually considered a physical change, although
again water is involved in breaking up the sodium and chloride ions in the salt
lattice.
