Whether HCl will attack skin depends on its concentration. 1 Molar solutions
or weaker will not attack skin very rapidly as long as there are no open cuts
at the point of contact. Concentrated HCl (12 Molar) attacks skin rapidly and
will send you to the water faucet quickly to wash it off. For your tests, 0.1
Molar HCl should be good enough and will not attack skin, but keep it out of
your eyes.
