Gray has the same hue (color) as white, a mix of red green
and blue wavelengths.

It is unsaturated. A pure red is saturated, a pink is red
mixed with white and is slightly unsaturated. White or
gray are unsaturated.

Gray is dimmer than white and brighter than black.

The perception of gray is definitely more complicated than
this. ;-)
