Dear Fellow Pinholers,

This message comes from a great friend of mine at UC Berkeley, Judy Scotchmoore. Please read, enjoy and use the site, and if interested, contact Nicole Presber to help them evaluate the site.

Take care,

Middle School Science Teachers- Please check out this email regarding evaluation of a new website, Understanding Evolution. If you have any questions, please contact the Project Evaluator, Nicole Presber at nicole@rockman.com.

Dear Teachers,

The University of California Museum of Paleontology is pleased to announce Understanding Evolution -- a new website dedicated to assisting science educators with teaching evolution. This tool for teachers is the product of a team of faculty, graduate students, teachers, staff from the National Center for Science Education, and web experts. Teachers will be able to utilize the web site to obtain information on issues such as the nature of science; the central ideas of biological evolution; evidence relating to evolution; the importance of evolution in our daily lives; the misconceptions that cloud public understanding of evolution; and the history of scientific thinking. Also on the site is a rich resource section that includes a conceptual framework and classroom resources to support the teaching of evolution.

The website aims to best meet the needs of all science teachers and you can help! If you are a middle school teacher, we invite you to participate in the evaluation of this website on evolution. If you are interested in participating, please go online to the sign up survey at
 http://survey.rockman.com/ucmp/ucmpsurvey4.htm

The study is being conducted by ROCKMAN ET AL, an independent research and consulting firm with headquarters in San Francisco. If you have any questions, please contact the Project Evaluator, Nicole Presber at nicole@rockman.com.
