Greetings Fellow Pinholers,

I received this email today and wanted to share the information.

Enjoy,
Sue Pritchard

Hi Susan

Project Tomorrow is pleased to be an outreach partner with NetDay for the 2004 SpeakUp Day for Teachers. This unique opportunity provides teachers a direct voice into the national conversation about education technology and input into the new National Education Technology Plan.

Teachers can access the survey on-line at http://www.netdayspeakup.org/ anytime and anywhere between April 17 - May 7, 2004. NetDay will release the national report on the findings at the National Education Computing Conference (NECC) in New Orleans on June 22, 2004.

NECC is the largest annual education technology conference and is attended by over 12,000 educators. The national report will also be shared with the US Department of Education, the US Department of Commerce, the Congress and national education groups to continue to influence policy discussions on technology and education. In addition, schools will have free access to their teachers' aggregated data in June so that they can use it for planning for professional development and technology purchases for the 2004-2005 school year.

The purpose of Speak Up Day for Teachers is threefold:
· To collect national data about how teachers feel about using the Internet and technology in their professional and personal life.
· To raise awareness about the importance of teacher voice as a stakeholder in technology decisions.
· To promote conversations at the local school level about the role of technology in learning with input from students through the first Speak Up Day and from teachers.

We encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and join in the national discussion. Attached is additional information about Speak Up Day for teachers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 714 780-7238.
