Hi Everybody,
We're looking for a chem/bio person to join our team in this new high
school. Portland is like a small San Francisco but without traffic.
Seriously, it's a great place to live. Please circulate this notice to your
network of science colleagues.

Position Description: High School Chemistry/Biology Teacher
Newly established high school connected to a long-established PS – 8
independent school opened in fall 2005 with 9th grade and will add one grade
each year until all four years of high school are in place. Portland Jewish
Academy High School is seeking an experienced teacher capable of providing
excellent high school science courses in biology and chemistry. Ability to
teach high school math and/or health is also highly desirable. Experience in
the design and development of a high school lab facility is a plus.
Ability to teach and mentor high school students successfully and to work
collaboratively and collegially on developing integrated, connected
curricula is essential. Decision-making based upon what is best for
students drives the educational program. Jewish affiliation is not
necessary; demonstrated excellence in teaching is! Willingness to be fully
engaged in the life of the school by participating in field trips,
after-school activities and school events is important. Full or part-time
employment opportunities would depend upon the diversity of the candidate’s
qualifications.
Send a letter of inquiry and a resume to Trish King, Principal of Portland
Jewish Academy High School, 6651 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97219 or
