Hello all!

My school has been doing these activity periods once a month and next month the science department is in charge of coming up with a plan. With Earth Day and Arbor Day in April we were hoping to find an activity that the whole school could participate in with minimal materials and on 40 mins of time. Does anyone have a good idea about a science activity that might work? The activity days started as a great way to get the school involved in a common project or competition each month, but now they have turned into somewhat of a burden. The activity has to be one that involves each student (600 total in classes of 25) for 30-40 mins, requires minimal materials, and minimal teacher participation since it is supposed to be a supervisory and not teaching period according to our contract. It could be an assembly, outdoor activity, in class project, etc.

Does anyone have an idea that might work for this? I would appreciate you input or help! Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Jen McGonigle mcgoniglej@cinnaminson.com
