<< Hi Al,
I am old enough to remember looking at my foot bones in one of those shoe
store x-ray machines. Its a wonder we are both alive at an age old enough to
rememer those things. I understand the half life of the salesmen who
operated
those machines was similar to the people who painted radium dial watches. I
remenber having one of those when I was a kid. Ah for the good old days.

Greetings Neil:

I am truly astounded by the amount of radiation we are bathed in every day of
our lives. As a kid I built my first Geiger counter in 1957 so I could
measure the amount of fallout in San Francisco from atomic tests being done by
China and Russia. Also in 1957 I had my dad drive out to Saint George, Utah, as
we took our vacation across the US. I had my Geiger counter with me to measure
the fallout of atom bomb tests Priscilla and Hood. So there we went in our
new '57 Chevy driving across the desserts of Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico with
me gleefully taking notes on the increased background radiation. One of these
days I really must go through all the radioactive items I amassed in those
days and find someplace safe to bury them. (Any suggestions Pinholers? Anyone
have a pass to Yucca Mountain?)

PS: Anybody want to buy my home made X-ray unit that I used to X-ray my pets
with? It is just big enough for lizards, frogs, and mice. FREE... ;-)
