An easy polymer lab (you may have already done this is using glue (Elmer's White Glue works best) along with a sodium borax solution. If you mix them together you can make a rubber ball. (Sort of).
Mix 10 or so mL of glue with 5 or 6 drops of 30% solution sodium borate (easily made from Borax soap, found in Grocery Stores). Stir intil you reach a "rubbery" consistency. If you do not reach it with 30 seconds or so, add a few more drops of soap solution. You can also add dyes, etc.
Now, the best would be if you have access to poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA). Using this instead of glue makes for a very interesting substance.
