HI Ellen.
Chernobyl also released a large number of radionucleides in to the
atmosphere. The most harmful are isotopes of Iodine, Strontium, Cesium, and
Plutoium. The iodine isotopes have half lives of a few days, but concentrate
in the thyroid gland. The plutonium isotopes have half lives of around 25,000
years. If your need more details, I can probably find a reference source for
you.
