How can I agree that times have changed? When I was in grad school in the
early 70s, women in the geophysics department at Stanford were encouraged
and mentored. Now, in the late 90's, the men in my high school science
department won't let a woman teach physics or chemistry, no matter that she
is more qualified; my (male) principal called me into his office to
chastise me for using the word "feminism" in a faculty meeting!!!!
This is NOT the long way I'd hoped we'd have come by now, baby.
