I think part of the problem with social training of boys and girls is that it
starts almost immedately at home, in child care facilites, and peers long
before teachers encounter them. One correspondent mentioned that their six
month old boy would not pick up a doll. By the time children reach six years
old, it may already be too late. One big problem with this early role
training is that, as adults, we do not remember it and it appears to be
genetic in origin.
