I got a tip about "UV beads" that are distributed by Educational Innovations
from Connecticut and have played around with them a bit. they change color
from white to dark red, purple, pink or others when exposed to UV. I tried to
shield them from a black light with several layers of plate glass and they did
change color. This suggests that the glass is passing UVa, right? Does this
also suggest that the black light's glass is really glass rather than some
other material like quartz?
