As to your magnet workshop, are you thinking of sending your participants to
Ocean Beach to harvest the magnetite that's being washed ashore? There is
really a lot of it. Harvesting the magnetite and havind students figure out
how to purify and isolate the grains without contaminating the equipment is a
traditional class experiment/process for my students.
