Pinholers,
Thanks for all the responses about electrolytes and electrolysis. A couple
of questions and a comment -
-Won't using NaCl produce Cl2 at one of the electrodes and NaOH at the other?
-Will ammonium sulfate produce O2 or H2 at either electrode?
-I've used pencils for electrolysis before with Sulfuric Acid. It works
great for production of H2, but as soon as the O2 is produced at one of the
carbon electrodes it turns into CO2. What comes out if you use Epsom salt?
(Gail could you send me that write-up).
