Michael Brown is a sculptor, designer and installation artist who has been creating artwork in San Francisco for more than 20 years. His large-scale public artworks include 3 sculptural clocks commissioned for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit and a sculptural landscape commissioned by the City of Oakland, CA. His sculptures can also be found in many California communities including Sunnyvale, Pleasanton and Martinez. His interactive artworks are in the collections of several science museums including: The Exploratorium in San Francisco, CA; The Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, Ca; Technorama in Winterthur, Switzerland and National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland.
In addition to creating public artwork, Mr. Brown has been working with museums to design exhibits that focus on inspiring greater interaction with the visitors through the use of innovative and engaging exhibition techniques. These exhibits include “Question” at the Cantor Center in Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, the “The Identity Project” at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA, as well as working with the Family Violence Prevention Fund on their new home that will include an exhibition hall.
