Subject: h2o heat capacity

hello pinholers

can anyone give a good reason why water has such a
high sepcific heat? we've been throwing around
concepts like rotational energy of atoms, kinetic
energy of atoms, vibrational energy, etc.

i'm not convinced that an atom can either rotate or
vibrate according to our common conception of rotation
and vibration. i don't need to see the QM behind it
all, but i want an explanation that takes me a little
deeper.

keep the funk alive
