unanswered questions in science

Hi Pinholers,

The great student questions from recent Pinholes
reminded me of a list I read a couple years ago of
about 20 science questions that are currently
un-answered.

I don't recall the criteria that defined "unknown" but
they included:
-How massive is the universe?
-Why do we dream?
-Why do dogs bark? (acc. to the article no one knows
for sure!)
-What are males for? (yup-I may have mis-quoted but
the fundamental un resolved q. regards the evolution
of sexual dimorphism)

Such unresolved questions really provoke good
discussion and thought since many middle schoolers
think "scientists know everything."

Does anyone have a good source of science questions
that nobody can answer?
