Two QuarkNet centers in the Bay Area are hosting workshops this summer.
If you're interested, apply right away!

Lawrence Berkeley Nat'l. Lab has a 3-week workshop June 26-July 17
minus July 4-5. See www-atlas.lbl.gov/QuarkNet/

UC Santa Cruz has a 2-week workshop July 8-19. See
scipp.ucsc.edu/outreach/balloon02/balloon02.html

(SLAC and Stanford have 4 high school teachers doing research this
summer; they will lead workshops next summer.)

You will learn how to introduce some modern physics curriculum and to
teach old concepts in new ways. And, you will do some "real science"!
You will receive $300 per week, $250 for equipment each year, and have
the possibility for paid trips to Fermilab and/or national AAPT
meetings. See QuarkNet.fnal.gov for information on the national
program.

Call or email me if you want more information.
