Subject: art teacher opportunity

Hello Pinhole Friends,
Here is an announcement for an art teacher at a K-5 charter school in Oakland.
Art Teacher
East Bay Conservation Corps Charter School

Exciting opportunity for the right educator!

The East Bay Conservation Corps has an opening for an Art Teacher for
its K-5 charter school. Our school was created out of the belief
that public schools must prepare children for the challenges,
opportunities and responsibilities of life in a democratic,
pluralistic society. Through service-learning, the curriculum and
culture of the school integrate service, spiritual development and
creative expression across a full range of academic subjects.

The Art Teacher teaches art to approximately 180 K-5 students and
develops school and community partnerships in the visual arts
including:
1. Planning annual school art shows and displaying student artwork
throughout the school on an ongoing basis;
2. Facilitating planning meetings with classroom teachers to assist
in developing visual arts activities which are integrated into
classroom curriculum and service-learning projects;
3. Identifying artists in the community and organizing classroom
demonstrations;
4. Assuming a lead role in supporting the school's guiding principle
and culture through coordinating and organizing annual school-wide
events.

Clear California Teaching Credential required.

Interested parties should send a letter of interest and resume to:
