Are you interested in learning about rocky intertidal and 
sandy beach
monitoring techniques? Would you like to set up a field 
monitoring site
with your students?
If so, we invite you to apply for the 2005 West Coast 
LiMPETS Teacher
Workshop hosted by the Channel Islands National Marine 
Sanctuary at El
Capitan Canyon outside of Santa Barbara, CA. The three-day 
workshop
(March 3-6, 2005) will include:
    * An introduction to rocky intertidal and sandy beach 
monitoring
      techniques with invited expert speakers
    * A field trip to a sandy beach site to collect data
    * A cruise to Anacapa Island to a rocky intertidal 
site to collect data
    * Instruction for entering data into online databases
    * Guidance for setting up your own marine monitoring 
program with
      your students
The workshop registration fee includes materials, bunk 
style lodging at
El Capitan Canyon with meals, boat trip to the Channel 
Islands,
substitute money and local transportation to monitoring 
sites.
