Subject: Math/science job at progressive high school

Sounds like there may be a math/science opening at my
husband's school, and if you are interested in working
in a public progressive small school, this may be the
place for you.

June Jordan High School was founded just two years ago
and is adding its third class in the fall. It is a
small (no more than 100 kids/grade) progressive public
high school in San Francisco, located in the Excelsior
neighborhood. Founded as part of the Small Schools
Initiative in the district, June Jordan tries to
exemplify excellent practice: a small, personalized
environment, authentic assessment and dedication to
helping every kid graduate and meet high academic
standards. The staff is awesome -- a group of
teachers bound by their dedication to social justice
and quality teaching. And as it is a teacher-run
school, they are very involved in the structural
development of the school.

If you are interested in working in an urban
environment, knowing your students well, and being
part of a dedicated staff, this might be for you.
Contact my husband, Matt Alexander at
mattalexander1@gmail.com or (415)902-5447 if you are
interested.

Best wishes,
Laura Hodder
