Here's my opinon. The reason we don't notice atmospheric pressure is because
the cells of our bodies push back with the same pressure and as long as the
changes aren't too sudden our cells respond to gradual changes in atmospheric
presure. Even in aircraft where pressure changes are fairly rapid, we adjust
to changes fairly quickly (except for our ears).
