We have two mole puppets (available anyplace that sells animal hand
puppets, like Stonestown and Haight Street) for our two chem labs. The
puppets fit beautifully over the gas jets on the teacher/demo table and
make pretty good mascots. Usually after the students find out what a
mole is in chemistry we begin to find the mole used more -- often they
have wrapped candy in their mouths, or are guarding returned papers, or
(once) are on top of a ring stand, over an unconnected bunsen burner.
