Here's what we discovered, and the materials we used,including things we realized might be useful
the next time we do this activity.

The activity took place at the National Museum of
American History, as part of the Lemelson Center's
Playful Mind Symposium. Our session lasted from
10:30am to 4pm. (We think we were able to accommodate between 15 to 20 visitors at a time.)
